Every workplace or company is a business. Business education provides the owner of the business, its managers as well as its employees, who work in subject-specific positions such as accounting, marketing, research, and production, the opportunity to successfully manage the company’s operations.

The reality that is summarized above persuaded those who have undergraduate degrees from business administration to pursue a master’s degree in business administration in the context of improving their existing skills and knowledge as well as acquiring subject specific skills and knowledge and using them in the multidimensional context. On the other hand, those who have undergraduate degrees from other fields realized the fact that pursuing a master’s degree in business administration provides them the necessary education on business issues that will help them to compensate their weaknesses related to business management, in addition to learning how to analyze and interpret cases, as well as how to make predictions and projections for the future in the business context. Overall, pursuing a master’s degree in business administration is a pathway of gaining the ability of making rational decisions related to business operations. This educational path has been seen as one of the most popular educational opportunities in the global context within the framework of its depth and its relatively short period of time. In addition to those who have business or non-business degrees, there is no doubt that business managers who also intend to improve themselves in the academic context should pursue a master’s degree in business administration. Finally, it should be pointed out that pursuing a master’s degree in business administration is important for those who have business or non-business undergraduate degrees as well as for those who are willing to academically advance their careers.

Çankaya University’s master’s program in business administration (MBA) has two options, which are with thesis or without thesis. The language of instruction is English. Program with thesis is mostly convenient for those who are willing to academically advance their careers in business research. Transfer between with or without thesis programs is possible. However, if a student transfers from one program to another, it is impossible to transfer the student to the former program. Since the students have to register and take their thesis research course starting from the third semester, transfer from the program without thesis to the program with thesis must occur at the beginning of the third semester at the latest.

Çankaya University’s master’s degree in business administration is established on two pillars. One of these pillars is the compulsory courses, which are based on the fundamental functional areas of the business administration (management and organization, accounting, finance, operations, marketing etc.). The second pillar consists of the elective courses, which provide the students the opportunity to specialize in one of the aspects of business administration. In addition, those students who enroll in the program without thesis are required to prepare a project in cooperation with a project supervisor and this project must satisfy certain requirements. Master’s program in business administration (with or without thesis) is administrated within the framework of the Çankaya University’s Graduate Education & Teaching Regulations. It is possible to access these regulations from the link below.
