Undergraduate Program in Business Administration – Çankaya University

The Undergraduate Program in Business Administration, offered within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Çankaya University’s Central Campus, is a four-year program, excluding the preparatory class. Courses in the department are organized on a semester basis, and each academic year consists of two semesters: Fall and Spring.

Program Objective:
The primary aim of the Business Administration Department is to equip students with the contemporary knowledge and skills necessary to establish a business and to manage either the entire organization or specific functions professionally at both national and international levels. The program seeks to foster entrepreneurial competencies, enable students to understand the economic and legal environment in which businesses operate, and allow them to specialize in specific areas of business administration. In this context, students are expected to acquire sufficient knowledge and skills related to core business functions, develop as team-oriented individuals, and attain a level of foreign language proficiency that allows them to operate internationally. Furthermore, the program emphasizes the development of skills for the effective use of information systems in business processes and encourages lifelong learning motivation among students.

Course Planning and Academic Advising:
At the beginning of each academic year, every student is assigned a faculty advisor, who, whenever possible, continues to monitor the student’s academic progress from the first year until graduation. Academic advisors not only oversee students’ academic development but also provide guidance on social and personal matters when needed.

Program Outcomes:
Graduates of the program acquire the ability to identify business problems, collect data, analyze information using quantitative and qualitative methods, and interpret results. The program also aims to improve students’ proficiency in English, supporting applied learning through case studies on successful businesses, teamwork, and presentations. In addition, elective courses focusing on the use of information technologies in business are offered, while software tools relevant to course topics are actively integrated into required courses. As a result, students gain comprehensive theoretical and practical competencies, preparing them for both academic and professional careers.

Applied Education:
The Department of Business Administration places special emphasis on practical learning. The Field Study (MAN 499) course, designed for senior students, enables them to develop projects addressing real business problems under the guidance of faculty supervisors in collaboration with partner companies. Furthermore, through Simulation Courses, students manage virtual companies in teams, make strategic decisions, and adjust their business plans based on outcomes. These experiences allow students to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, gain firsthand experience in decision-making processes, and strengthen their professional competencies.

Career Opportunities:
Graduates of the Business Administration Undergraduate Program have access to a wide range of employment opportunities across various sectors. Alumni take on professional roles in auditing and consulting firms, banks, insurance companies, and private sector organizations, particularly in departments such as marketing, advertising, production, accounting, finance, project management, and human resources. Additionally, graduates are eligible to work in public institutions as specialists, assistant specialists, auditors, inspectors, and managers. Those who wish to pursue an academic career may continue their studies in master’s and doctoral programs.

Collaborations and Industry Integration:
The Department of Business Administration actively collaborates with Organized Industrial Zones and various companies across different sectors. Within these collaborations, students participate in projects developed in line with industry needs and conduct fieldwork under the supervision of faculty advisors. This enables students to integrate theoretical knowledge with real-world business practices, enrich their professional experience, and prepare for professional life with greater competence and confidence.
